Im going to give a balanced review here as there is good and not so good. Good plenty of stock, a great selection of locos, coaches and wagons, not to mention scenery etc etc. They also do modifications. The staff do know their stuff.Not so goodThe staff have no idea on what good customer care is. They laugh at your questions, and make you feel stupid. They are abrupt and on occasion have been outright rude. I have spent 1000 in there recently and feel I am not even remotely valued. I wish I had gone elsewhere. Their products are much more expensive than those online but you would expect that as they run a high street business, and I dont mind spending a few quid more for this walk in service. However I do not expect to pay more for a product when the staff are rude and couldnt care whether you lived or died.
Great place to visit to see the stock and items. Certainly worth dropping if you are in the area.
My young son had a voucher from these people, there is nowhere to enter the code for an online sale. Apparently you have to buy the item with a credit card and then enter the code after to redeem the voucher. I had an extremely arrogant and impatient man on the line who talked over me when I was speaking, was rude about having to explain himself twice as the idea of my 14 year old having a credit card was more than a little silly. I went to make a suggestion about how to improve the system with having a box where you can enter the voucher code before you make a purchase and was told that he was interested in how other voucher systems work. This person was the manager as the first person I spoke had to ask the question to his "boss". I would award them no stars if I could for their unprofessional, rude discourteous and oafish customer services. Maybe the "boss" could be sent a much needed voucher from a company offering (very) basic etiquette to improve his telephone manner. It will be interesting to see if they offer any response to this as other customers may be able to judge them from it.
